This tour is designed for guests who would like a general overview of the wine region and South African wines.

We will aim to visit two vineyards in the morning, followed by a drive through Stellenbosch and then lunch.  After lunch you will have the option of a third vineyard or a stroll through Franschhoek.

After collection from your hotel in Cape Town we will drive for around fifty minutes until we reach the heart of the Stellenbosch wine region.

We will choose two small family-run vineyards which showcase typical South African wines.  For white wines these will be Sauvignon Blanc and a lightly oaked Chardonnay.  Our reds tend to be blends of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Shiraz.  You will also try our unique South African grape variety, the Pinotage.

Next we will drive through the historical town of Stellenbosch, the second oldest town in South Africa and offers numerous heritage buildings with Cape Dutch architecture.

From here we will begin our drive to Franschhoek and lunch will be on vineyard with some lovely views.

After lunch you will have the option of a stroll through Franschhoek, a quaint picturesque village which was established by the French Huguenots in the late 1600s.  Or perhaps a third wine tasting at a vineyard before heading back to Cape Town.

Throughout the day you will hear the history of the wine region and industry.
